Hi, haven’t read the book, but I wanted to comment about Mindmapper etc. I have looked at zillions of mind mapping software and the one I prefer is VUE. It one of the very few that doesn’t impose a structure on the map – and you can save maps as pdf’s, jpg’s whatever. I think its the only one that supports ‘layers’, which can be very useful.

Hi Riz,

What browser are you using to download the map? Is it Internet Explorer?

Both links to the downloadable mind maps (.mmap and .xmind) are, in fact, disguised ZIP files (that both MindManager and XMind open directly and handle well). The problem might be that Internet Explorer “intelligently” detects that the .mmap and .xmind file are in fact zip files — and downloads them with an extension of .zip.

One possible solution: Download the file and rename it using a “.mmap” (or “.xmind”) extension and try to open it.

Please let me know if that solves your problem.

Great summary and thanks for uploading the mindmaps. However I am having problems opening the mindmap files into both Xmind and iMindMap software. Zipped file that I have downloaded contains .xml files and three folders (attachments, META-INF, Thumbnails).

I get an error “Failed to load contents from this file. caused by ‘java.util.zipException’: error in opening Zip file

I don’t know what am I doing wrong. I have tried unzipping the files and also try to open the zip files directly.
