Jason: Glad you enjoyed the mind map.
The software I use is Mindjet MindManager (which I strongly recommend). For the online version, I exported the original map to the open source software FreeMind.

HI Luciano,

Love the mind map, very useful as studying for exams in Purchasing. Could I ask what software you used to create it? I hand write my mindmaps but the one you made looks great?

thanks,
Jason

This is my favourite book on negotiation. Brilliant authors, brilliant book, nicely summarised. Worth reading even if it is just for the examples. There is an abridged form of it available as an audio book, which I also have on my shelves.

Luciano,

As a fan of yours on StumbleUpon, I thought I would check out your blog as well. Boy, was I shocked! It's even better than the sites you review.

Most of this stuff is completely up my alley, and your take on it is just wonderful and inspiring.

This sounds like a wonderful book, and one that I need to add to my ever-growing list of books to read by this century. You deserve all the best, and I hope you reach all of your goals.

Much Love,
Chris Regnery

Hi Jennifer,

Glad you enjoyed the mind map.

You're free to upload it (and others maps in this website) provided you link to the original post and don't make any modifications on the map.

Great Mind Map - We used Getting to Yes as part of the Negotiation & strategic relationships unit when doing my Masters of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

It was a great process - we worked on a real project and turned around a request for us to pay a company a license fee to them paying us!

I am creating a new website (www.fuzz2buzz.com) with a Mind Map Gallery - would it be possible to load up your Mind Map (with full credit and links to your site etc). We are hoping to have as many Mind Maps as possible and prefer originals than links that could change.

cheers

Hi, Jacob: great to have you around!

You raise a very interesting point: we spend a lot of time negotiating with ourselves.
Although the focus of the book is on traditional negotiation (between two or more persons), I am certain we can apply its concepts when negotiating with ourselves.
(I find myself doing it quite frequently: "lazy-me" with "achiever-me", "procrastinator-me" with "doer-me", and so on…)

Thanks for the insight!

Great post about a terrific book. Everyone should read it; we spend all our time negotiating with ourselves and other people, so we should at least know how to do it.
